Founded in 2017, our Youth Committee is formed of 10 members aged 15 - 25 who advise the Branch Committee on activities, whilst creating their own initiatives and projects to move the branch forward.
Our Youth Committee is led by the Branch Youth Officer (Youth Committee Chairperson) and elect a Youth Committee secretary and treasurer at their Annual General Meeting. Other members of the committee have the opportunity to create and lead their own projects with the full support of the Youth and Branch committees.
Some Youth Committee highlights in recent years include new branch merchandise, a successful series of Zoom Charity Recitals, numerous workshops and album launches.
Our Youth Committee is a great way for young people to develop personally and gain leadership, teamwork and problem solving abilities that will aid them as they move through school and university. The Youth Committee provides hands-on management experience whilst having the full support and guidance of the Branch Committee
If you are aged 15 - 25 and are eager to join our Youth Committee, contact us below for more information

Our Branch Committees work hard to encourage and preserve our Irish Traditional Culture in South Down and beyond. They oversee our weekly classes, performance groups and bands, performances and fundraising.
We are always keen for new volunteers to join our Branch Committee.
